When I Was Sixty Four (Arthritic Mix)

from Mother & Child Reunion by Deane Arnold & Susie Deane

/

about

This song is Mom's sarcastic side coming to the front. She was 64 a long time ago, and she wanted to arrange this Beatles song to sound like an old lady winding up her arthritic chops to play an old favorite. She gets carried away as the song progresses, and starts improvising increasingly difficult riffs until her fingers give out. Then she adjusts her chair and returns to the simpler part to end the song. Whew.

I make music. When I'm not making music, I make art. I paint, I sculpt, and I carve pumpkins.

Most people like the pumpkins best.
